INSS 2008 was held on June 17 through 19, 2008 in Kanazawa, Japan. Over 150 participants gathered for the meeting this year.

All oral papers presented at INSS 2008 will be made available from IEEE Xplore soon.

INSS 2008 is the fifth annual conference in the series, and features a highly selective technical program. We invite outstanding research papers for the regular paper track from the field of sensor technology, wireless networking, or application of networked sensor systems. The conference especially encourages submissions that investigate research issues shared between all three areas.
INSS 2008 invites the submission of both regular, short, and industry papers. Regular papers must be no more than 4 to 8 two-column pages long and include an abstract of 100-150 words. Short and industry papers must be no more than 4 two-column pages long and include an abstract of 100-150 words. Short papers are suitable for interactive discussions; the presenters of accepted short papers are given short oral presentation times and poster space for discussions. Industry papers are suitable for industry researchers to present not only technical, but also practical issues surrounding production, deployment, and commercialization of networked sensing technology. Accepted industry papers will be presented in the main conference industry track session, and will be given full oral presentation times. All accepted papers will be published from the Society of Instrument and Control Engineers (SICE), and also from IEEE Explore. All papers should be formatted according to the "IEEE transactions" format - see the conference Web site for details.
